Seger Beach
Seger Beach is located on the southern island of Lombok, about 65 kilometers from Mataram. When passed over the coastline, Seger Beach is located very near the Kuta Beach. But if past the paved road, will be felt far enough because they have to take a detour. On the Beach Seger many hills that can climb a small hill and from its summit we could enjoy the scenery interesting. The beauty of this beach makes the tourists become fascinated watching its natural panorama. Clear and calm waters make this beach ideal for swimming.Seger Beach is a part of a legend of local folklore. Usually in February, the community held a party of the people of Lombok, Bau Nyale (Catching Nyale) along the southern coast of Lombok Island. This party of the people in focus in Seger Beach because this is where the legend originated.
Once, there lived a daughter of a king on the island of Lombok. He was named Princess Mandalika. The princess has good looks that attracted many kings and prince of the royal neighbors to ask for her hand. Not easy for the princess to make a choice, because each king and prince insisted to get it even if necessary on the path of war to defeat his rivals. Seeing this condition, the princess who does not want bloodshed in his country, chooses to sacrifice herself. Chose a hilltop on the edge of the southern ocean and from the top of the hill she flung herself. Reef and sea waves to welcome sacrifice.
Princess Mandalika’s body disappear into the ocean. After the incident, soon appeared around the coast of sea worms and the longer multiply. These worms then spread almost along the south coast of Lombok Island. Local people call these worms as “Nyale” and they believe that Nyale” is the incarnation of Princess Mandalika who chose to sacrifice himself for the security of the state and society. These marine worms can be consumed and it was delicious.

There several flight from Jakarta to Lombok, as follows, served by Merpati Nusantara, Garuda Indonesia, and Lion Air. When to Go?
Lombok has many interesting cultural celebration: The smell nyale in February; Senggigi Festival in July; and Topat War between November and December. Summer around May to September is the ideal time to explore the coastal area.
