Gili Nanggu - A Privat Beach in Lombok

Gili Nanggu is not famous like Gili Trawangan and Gili Air. But because of this status make this place interesting place to be visited. The coastal and diving area in this island is relatively safe from the tourists, so you can freely travel.
Gili Nanggu is located approximately 60 kilometers to the southwest of Mataram, between Gili Tangkong and Gili Sudak. With an area of only 12.5 hectares, the island can be explored within a day exhausted. Gili Nanggu can be achieved using a motor boat for 15 minutes from Port Tawun. Another option is to route through the Port Lembar with travel time approximately 20 minutes.Stretch of white sand and the sign saying “Welcome to Gili Nanggu” greet visitors at the pier. The atmosphere is very quiet. There is not many people around, whether local residents or foreign travelers. Quiet and so beautiful, it’s no wonder this island called Paradise Island.
There is only one inn here, namely Gili Nanggu Cottages & Bungalows. Building design architecture adopts traditional Sasak house, tribal Lombok. Stage house with a roof shaped like a dome. Sea breeze through the walls and cool interior of the inn.

Canoe and cycling are the most exciting way to explore Gili Nanggu. But for lovers of marine life, the most interesting activity here of course, snorkeling and diving. Nature’s underwater island is still very well maintained. Fish of different colors and types, ranging from clown fish to Napoleon, agile swimming among coral. Snorkeling equipment rental rates is about IDR 75.000 ($ 8 USD).
To support environmental conservation efforts and confirmed the motto of the company as eco-friendly lodging, since the 1995 Gili Nanggu Cottages & Bungalow opened a turtle conservation area which until now has hatched more than 10 thousand eggs. Effort could not succeed without involving the public, the cottage of the island invite visitors to participate in the procession of the release of hatchlings into the sea.
